This superb trek takes us away from the more frequented trails leading to Everest Base Camp, to over a pass to the east. Entering this very sparsely inhabited Hunku Valley, we walk northwards through a beautiful high alpine environment, from which Mera Peak (6,476m) the highest trekking peak in Nepal towers over the valley. Traversing around to the north, we find a softer side, and from here it is no technical climb. It can be attempted if you have acclimatized well, with strong lungs and have the view of four of the five highest mountains on earth standing proud over hundreds more, many of which are still unnamed and unclimbed. After the Mera summit, the trail will follow crossing Mingbo La or Tashi Lapcha down to Everest classic route to Chukung or Pangboche, via Tyangboche monastery. Next day we trek to Namche and down to Lukla. From here we fly back to Kathmandu the following day.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla, camp.
Day 04: Chu Thanga, camp.
Day 05: Chetrawa, camp.
Day 06: Tashidingma, camp.
Day 07: Thangnang, camp.
Day 08: Khare, camp.
Day 09: Khare rest day, camp.
Day 10: Mera high, camp.
Day 11: Mera summit, chamlang base camp.
Day 12: Panch Pokhari, camp.
Day 13: Amphu Laptsa - high camp, camp.
Day 14: Chhukung, camp.
Day 15: Chhukung rest day, camp.
Day 16: Tengboche, camp.
Day 17: Namche Baazar, camp.
Day 18: Lukla, camp.
Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel Manang/Hotel Radisson.
Day 20: Leisure day in Kathmandu - Hotel Manang/Hotel Radisson.
Day 21: Final departure from Kathmandu airport.
