The many lakes in Seo Valley are every anglers wildest dream come true. At Lingshi is picturesque remnant of a once migltly border fortrees is now the residences of the valley admininstrator. From his hill a day's trek is all it takdes to cross over the plateau of Tibet.
Heading East over the 3 high passes of Gobuala 4,650m, jarila 4,600m and Shinjela 4,900m lies the valley of Laya. Herds of the rare Tarkin can be seen enroute to Tashi Jathang valley. Laya lies in the Masakhang mountain region which is the source of the Mo Chu flowing through Punakaha. The inhabitants of Layas an ethnic group, are quite different form the rest of the Bhutanese people. Like the people so Seo and Lingshi they too are nomads. Testimonial
A. C. Sherpa provided an inside journey of his homeland and took us to places like Namche Bazar, the Tengpoche monastery, KallaPattar near the Everest basecamp and many other wonderful sites culminating in a 3 day climb up Island Peak at over 20,000 feet. This was without doubt a great adventure and spiritual pilgrimage for me and unforgetable memories to behold. ~ Otto Sperka Manager - The Harbor Club Seattle/Bellevu |
