Gasherbrum I (8,125M) also known as Hidden Peak

To the local inhabitants the name translates into "Shining Wall". Among the six Gasherburn Peaks in the Karakoram range Gasherbrum I is the highest. The Americans were the first to reach its the Autumn of 1958. It was first climbed by A. Kaufman & P. Schoening in 1958. Although the French had made an attempt as early as 1956.

The Hidden Peak was also the first eight thousander to be climbed in Alpine style. These days there are more than six different routes on Gasherbrun I with as many variations providing the able mountaineer with opportunities galore. The trek to the Base Camp starts at Skardu town through Shigar valley across the Baltoro glacier.

BRIEF ITINERARY

Day 01: Arrival Islamabad and made necessary arrangements
Day 02: Islamabad – Rest day and briefing at the Ministry of Tourism
Day 03: Drive to Chilas, 12 hrs. drive
Day 04: Drive to Skardu , 8-10 hrs. drive
Day 05: Sakardu – Rest day and Final Preparation for Expedition
Day 06: Drive to Thongal, 8-10 hrs. drive
Day 07: Trek to Jhola, 7-8 hrs
Day 08: Trek to Bardumal – Paiju, 7-8 hrs,
Day 09: Paiju – Rest day
Day 10: Trek to Urdukus, 7-8 hrs.
Day 11: Trek to Goro, 6-7 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to Concordia, 4-5 hrs.
Day 13: Trek to Hidden Peak Base Camp (5,600m), 8-9 hrs.
Day 14-40: Climbing Period of Hidden Peak
Day 41-46: Return to Askole or Hushe and drive to Skardu
Day 47: Fly to Islamabad or drive to Chilas
Day 48: Islamabad – Debriefing at the Ministry of Tourism
Day 49: Islamabad – Rest day
Day 50: Final Departure
