Chomolhari Trek (12 days) PDF Print E-mail
ImageThere is very little tourist traffic on the pristine trekking routes in Bhutan. This is primarily a positive offshoot of the Bhutanese government's policy limiting tourists to 5000 a year. Naturally one has a pleasant sensation of breaking fresh ground on treks in Bhutan. The Chomolhari trek follows the crystal clear trout rich upstream trail of Para Chu along the verdant rhododendron canopied forests and salubrious green alpine meadows. Mt. Chomolhari, having one of the most beautiful peaks in the Eastern Himalaya, stands st a magnificent (7,314m) with age old frontier forts and sprawling yak pastures in its foreground; a truly rewarding sight for the determined trekker. One the course of the trek, one will have sojourned through several places rich in history in Paro, Thimphu and Punakha.

Testimonial

Your staff Kazi and Tendi were very good always on top of everything! They always found us places to stay and we were never forced to do too long of day. Besides the scenery, my favorite part was your parent's house.  - Larson Silbaugh, University of Washington
